Siem Reap

DAY 2

Siem Reap - Angkor Wat

Today is dedicated to exploring the world-famous temples of Angkor — and there’s no better way to do it than by Tuk-Tuk.

Follow shaded jungle paths and sandy temple trails as you discover the icons:

  • Angkor Wat, Cambodia’s crown jewel

  • Bayon, with its enigmatic carved faces

  • Ta Prohm, entwined with giant roots and jungle atmosphere

It’s a day rich in history, stories, and photo stops around every corner.

After returning to your hotel for a well-earned rest, enjoy dinner in Siem Reap and reflect on your first full day of Cambodian wonders.

DAY 3

Beng Mealea

Approx. distance: 110 km

Your first real driving day — and the moment your adventure truly begins.

Hit the open road as you steer your Tuk-Tuk through rural Cambodia: rice paddies, palm-lined tracks, and villages where life moves to the rhythm of the sun. Your main stop is Beng Mealea, a sprawling jungle-wrapped temple where collapsed galleries and mossy stone corridors make for a cinematic experience.

This evening, you’ll stay at a traditional Cambodian homestay — a wooden village house run by local families. It’s rustic, authentic, and a meaningful way to support the community. Expect a warm welcome and a delicious home-cooked dinner.

DAY 4

Kampong Kleang

Approx. distance: 60 km

After breakfast, continue your journey through the Cambodian countryside. Today’s route is dotted with small schools, farm villages, and wide smiles — children often run out to wave as you pass by in your Tuk-Tuk.

By afternoon, you’ll arrive in Kampong Kleang, one of the most extraordinary stilted villages on the Tonle Sap Lake. Homes tower above the water during the wet season and sit high on stilts during the dry — a striking and unforgettable sight.

Settle into your floating village homestay, meet your host family, and enjoy a beautifully prepared Khmer dinner. This stay offers an intimate glimpse into lake life — cultural, immersive, and truly special.

DAY 5

Siem Reap

Approx. distance: 80 km

Wake to the rhythm of lake life — fishermen loading their boats, families starting their day, and the soft glow of sunrise over the water.

After breakfast, point your Tuk-Tuk back toward Siem Reap for your final stretch on the road. Expect a scenic, relaxed drive through rural communities, with plenty of moments that remind you how far you’ve come since your first training session.

Back in town, unwind at your resort before meeting the group for a Farewell Dinner — a celebration of stories, teamwork, and the unforgettable experiences shared along Cambodia’s backroads.

Cambodia

Why is it so amazing?

Short answer: come and find out for yourself. Long answer: it’s like the country that South East Asia left behind. While Thailand and (to an extent) Vietnam are heaving with Bintang-singlet-wearing tourists, Cambodia has a way more laidback feel. Kind of like those countries 20 years ago. The history is also a big drawcard – not only do you have Khmer relics dotted through the jungle like the UNESCO wonder Angkor Wat, you’ve also got the tragic late 20th-century genocide, which still leaves its mark on Cambodian life. Basically: Phuket this is not.

Trip Tips

In the unfortunate event of a breakdown

In the unfortunate event of a breakdown

Tuk-Tuks are unique vehicles that require careful handling and maintenance. While our team works tirelessly to ensure the safety and reliability of our fleet, it´s important to note that Tuk-Tuks are delicate machines that can experience mechanical issues or breakdowns due to improper handling or poor road conditions. We take great pride in providing our customers with an authentic and adventurous travel experience, and part of that experience is accepting the risks and challenges that come with driving a Tuk-Tuk. In the event that a Tuk-Tuk does experience mechanical issues you will have a mechanic on call and, depending on the nature of the breakdown, it may be the responsibility of the driver to repair the vehicle at their own expense. We understand that this may be an inconvenience, but we believe it is a fair price to pay for the thrill and excitement of Tuk-Tuk travel. So, if you´re ready to embark on a one-of-a-kind adventure, just remember to drive carefully, follow our safety guidelines, and embrace the challenges that come with this unique mode of transportation. After all, it´s all part of the adventure!

The Route

FAQs

No previous experience is required. We provide a full training session on Day 1, including hands-on driving practice and safety briefing. If you can drive a car and follow simple instructions, you can drive a tuk-tuk.

Not at all. Tuk-Tuks are lightweight, low-speed vehicles designed for easy handling. After a bit of practice, most travellers feel confident within 30 minutes. Our mechanic accompany you every day for ongoing support.

Our homestays in Beng Mealea and Kampong Kleang are traditional Khmer houses run by local families. They’re simple, clean, safe, and community-focused — expect basic rooms, shared facilities, delicious home-cooked meals, and a warm welcome. These stays immerse you in real Cambodian life while directly supporting the host families.

This depends on who you are travelling with. Each Tuk-Tuk can have 1, 2 or 3 people, forming a “team.” You can swap driving as often as you like.

You’re fully supported every day. A local Tuk-Tuk mechanic travel close by. When there are 2+ teams a support minivan follows behind to take your luggage. Their job is to assist with navigation, roadside issues, language barriers, and anything else you need.

Breakfast and dinner are included each day. Lunches are not included to give you flexibility — there are plenty of great local spots along the route, and our guide is always happy to recommend favourites.

Expect a mix of quiet rural roads, countryside tracks, village lanes, and smooth tarmac. The route is designed for beginner drivers and focuses on low-traffic areas, scenic backroads, and culturally rich landscapes.
